How to Transfer a Website to KamHost

Transferring your website to KamHost is a straightforward process. You can either use our free website migration service, where our support team transfers the website for you, or you can move the website manually by transferring files, databases, and updating your domain settings. This guide explains both methods so you can choose the option that works best for you.

Choose Your Transfer Method

You can transfer your website to KamHost in two ways:

1. Use our FREE website migration service (recommended)
2. Transfer the website manually

Option 1 – Free Website Migration (Recommended)

We provide FREE website migration for all customers, making the process quick and hassle-free.

To get started:

1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. Submit a support ticket
3. Provide the following details:
   • Your current web hosting control panel/admin URL
   • Username
   • Password

Once submitted, our support team will handle the entire migration for you.

Option 2 – Manual Website Transfer

If you prefer to move the website yourself, follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Back Up Your Website

Before transferring your website, you should create a full backup from your current hosting account. If you are using cPanel hosting, you should back up the following:

• Website files (public_html)
• Databases (MySQL)
• Email accounts (if needed)

You can download files using:

• cPanel File Manager
• FTP (such as FileZilla)
• Backup Wizard in cPanel

Export databases via phpMyAdmin → Export → Quick → SQL.

Step 2 – Upload Files to KamHost

Log in to your KamHost account and upload your website files.

• File Manager → /www/example.com

Ensure all files are uploaded to the example.com folder under the www directory (example.com represents your domain name).

3. Open phpMyAdmin, click on your new database
4. Go to the Import tab, and upload your .sql backup file

Update your website configuration file with new database details.

Update your domain nameservers to point to KamHost.

DNS propagation typically takes 1–24 hours.

Step 6 – Test Your Website

After propagation:
